Dose and jar calendar: how long a tallow balm jar lasts
A pea for the face, a nickel for hands, a quarter for an arm or a leg: how many days a 2 oz jar lasts at your use, and when the next one should land.
How the calendar counts
Every jar we pour carries the same three amounts: a pea for the face, a nickel for hands, a quarter for an arm or a leg. The calendar turns those into grams a day (a pea of dense balm is about 0.3 g, a nickel 0.6 g, a quarter 1.2 g) and divides a jar's net weight by the total. A poured-dense 2 oz Craft jar is 56 g of balm with no air in it, which is why the same jar outlasts a whipped one: up to half of a whipped jar can be air. The grams are planning figures, not lab weights; a heavier hand, damp skin and a dry winter all move the number, and the jar on your shelf is the final word.
Why we recommend a new jar every 30 days
Face twice a day and hands after washing is how most people use a balm, and that pace empties a 2 oz jar in about a month. So the plan is built around 30 days: the last of one jar meets the first of the next, subscribers take 25% off the first delivery and 10% off every renewal, ship free, and get an email before each charge. If your calendar runs long, skip a delivery in your account or pick 45 or 60 days at checkout; if it runs short, take two jars a delivery, and the first delivery of a two-jar subscription carries a free 2 oz Bare Silk Unscented.
Questions we hear
How long does a 2 oz tallow balm last?
About a month with daily face and hand use, about three months on the face alone at a pea twice a day, and two to three weeks if an arm or a leg gets a quarter every day. Those are dense-jar numbers; a whipped jar of the same size holds about half the balm.
How much tallow balm should I use on my face?
A pea, warmed between the fingertips on clean, damp skin, morning and night. It finishes matte in about a minute; more than that reads greasy. Hands take a nickel, an arm or a leg a quarter, lips a grain of rice.
How often should I reorder tallow balm?
Every 30 days on the plan we built, which fits face and hands twice a day. Face-only users stretch a jar to three months and skip deliveries; whole-body users add a second jar.
Does tallow balm go bad before I finish the jar?
Not at this pace. A dense balm with no water in it keeps a year or more in a cool, dark cupboard; how long tallow balm lasts covers shelf life and storage, and this page covers how fast you use it. Tallow balm sizes puts the 1, 2, 4 and 8 oz jars on this calendar.
