Our Ingredients
Every ingredient in every jar, with its sourcing story. The full deck, disclosed.
Two rules govern this list. First, whole botanicals over fractions: cold-pressed oils and supercritical CO2 extracts, never solvent-stripped or heat-flattened versions of themselves. Second, studied doses: where an active carries a studied concentration, we formulate to it.
What we never use lives on the Never List.
The base
Grass-Fed Suet Tallow
Regeneratively farmed, grass-finished, slow-rendered suet, not trim fat. Fatty acids that closely resemble your skin's own, nearly zero PUFA so it stays fresh instead of oxidizing. The chemistry case lives on Why Tallow.
Squalane
Sugarcane-derived and biomimetic: a mirror of a lipid your skin makes on its own. Absorbs instantly, hydrates deeply, weighs nothing.
Meadowfoam Oil
Ultra-long-chain fatty acids that form a light, breathable seal, and one of the most stable oils known, quietly shielding its more delicate neighbors.
Organic Jojoba Oil
A liquid wax that mirrors skin's own sebum, conditioning and balancing without clogging. Organic and cold-pressed.
Cold-Pressed Oat Oil
Pressed, not solvent-stripped, so ceramides and phospholipids arrive intact: the very lipids a healthy barrier is built from.
The actives
Bakuchiol 99%
A plant-derived retinol alternative, 99% pure, formulated at a true 1% finished: the concentration studied head-to-head against retinol.
Vitamin C (oil-soluble)
The oil-loving form of vitamin C at a studied dose: stays potent where L-ascorbic acid breaks down, travels the skin's lipid layers, and converts where it counts. On the ingredient list it reads Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate.
CoQ10 (Ubiquinone)
The lipid antioxidant skin makes less of with age; partners with vitamin E on defense.
Manuka Honey Extract
The famed New Zealand honey in an oil-soluble form, so real honey can live evenly in a waterless balm.
The botanicals
Organic Blue Tansy
True Tanacetum annuum from Morocco, organically grown. Its rare azulenes visibly settle the look of redness, and its chamazulene is the sapphire in Moonlight Calm; no dyes anywhere in the line.
Organic Blue Chamomile CO2
Organic German chamomile in concentrated CO2 form: the second azulene botanical, comfort for easily-flushed skin.
Organic Rosehip CO2
Whole organic rosehip seed drawn by cold CO2, nothing lost to heat: naturally rich in vitamin A compounds, carotenoids, and sterols.
Organic Calendula CO2
CO2-extracted organic calendula, 5 to 10 times more concentrated than a slow-infused oil: a long-trusted comfort for skin that runs sensitive.
Organic Helichrysum
The true immortelle, steam-distilled in Croatia, long prized for improving the look of scars.
Organic Sea Buckthorn CO2
Pulp extract rich in rare omega-7 and carotenoids; the golden cast it lends Recovery Balm is the ingredient itself, never a dye.
Organic Tamanu Oil
Virgin, unrefined, cold-pressed from South Pacific nuts: the traditional island answer for skin under stress.
Organic Bulgarian Lavender
Lavandula angustifolia from Bulgaria at a gentle dose in Bare Silk's Lavender Edition: the classic calm-down note.
Frankincense CO2 and Bulgarian Rose CO2
The two Velvet Face Renewal editions: Somali Boswellia, smoky-lemon over balsamic, or the same Rosa damascena behind rose otto, from the Valley of the Roses.
Organic Vanilla CO2
Organic Vanilla planifolia pods, hand-cured and CO2-drawn whole at 12% vanillin, in Honey Glow's Vanilla Edition. Comfort as a scent, never bakery-sweet.
The quiet workers
Vitamin E (Mixed Tocopherols)
The antioxidant guard that keeps every oil in the jar fresh to the last scoop.
Organic Rosemary Antioxidant CO2
Vitamin E's partner on defense in most of the line; Bare Silk stays rosemary-free by design.
Organic Arrowroot
A touch of organic arrowroot lends every balm its powder-soft, matte-velvet finish.
